Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct. (Hebrews 13:7)
…(T)hat you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (Hebrews 6:12)
…(N)ot because we do not have authority, but to make ourselves an example of how you should follow us. (2 Thessalonians 3:9)
Respond Properly To Tests, Trials and Trouble.
You will be tested. Trials and trouble will come to your house and overstay their welcome. The Apostle Paul exhorted his new converts by warning them, “we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.” To the Thessalonians he wrote, “that no one should be shaken by these afflictions; for you yourselves know that we are appointed to this” (1 Thessalonians 3:3).
It is by trials and tests that the most growth occurs in the Christian life. 1 Peter 1:7 says, “that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” James exhorts us all,
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. (James 1:2-4)
